PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD- THE CONNECTION BETWEEN ELECTRONICS

A PCB or Printed Circuit Board, or you can say Printed wiring board is a free-standing module of coordinated electric components found in machines varying from common beepers, pagers, radios to advanced radar and computer systems. The circuits are fabricated by a thin layer of conducting material settled or printed on the facet of the insulating board known as the substrate. Separate electronic parts are located on the exterior of the substrate and soldered to the linking circuits. A PCB may have channels that can conduct a single function like a signal amplifier, or multiple tasks.

TECHNICAL TERMS OF PCB
  1. ANNULAR RING: It refers to a copper ring that encloses the holes on a PCB.
  2. DESIGN RULE CHECK: Details like the width of the traces and drill holes are checked. DRC is a policy where the design of the PCB is monitored for its functionality.
  3. DRILL HIT: Whether right or misplaced, the drill hit narrates all holes of the PCB. For example, in some situations, a hole might have some faults because of the dull drilling instruments used during manufacturing.
  4. FINGER: Unsheltered metal along the sides of the board works as a joining point between two PCBs. They are mostly found in former video games and memory cards.
  5. PAD: An area of open metal on a PCB where the soldered part is applied.
  6. PANEL: A large circuit board containing smaller boards that are eventually divided for separate use.
  7. PASTE STENCIL: On the board, a metal stencil is situated where for soldering paste is placed.
  8. PLATED THROUGH HOLE: A hole that goes directly through a PCB for connection with other parts. The shaft is coated and features the annular ring.
  9. V-SCORE: An area where the board is partly penetrated.
  10. VIA: It is a hole where the signals pass through the layers.
RAW MATERIALS OF PCB
The material of the substrate is a glass fiber fortified (fiberglass) epoxy resin with a copper foil joined onto one or dual sides. PCBs created from paper fortified phenolic resin with a fixed copper foil is economical and is used in household electrical devices.
The copper used to make printed circuits are either plated or carved away on the surface of the substrate to create the desired pattern. The copper circuits are plated with a layer of tin-lead to stop oxidation. PCB board design services provide essential components like capacitors, transistors, integrated circuit chips, diodes, etc.
